Kitchen Coordinator, Athens

We are looking for a highly motivated chef with logistical and management experience to join our team, helping to manage and set-up our new kitchen in Athens to cook nutritious, tasty meals for displaced people.

Hours: Full time, Monday – Friday. 
Start date: September 2022

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Training, guiding and supervising the kitchen team in meal preparation, cooking and food safety.
  • Cooking meals for distribution.
  • Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of hygiene and safety procedures and practices.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and adjustments of the menus and distribution schedule according to seasonal produce, department budget and the kitchen team’s input.
  • Maintaining and monitoring kitchen logistical processes (food stock, submitting food orders, equipment servicing needs).
  • Developing in-house food-themed workshops, and assisting in workshops by external collaborators.
  • Delivering Project Armonia’s culinary, lab-based training program for displaced people.

Essential Requirements

  • At least two years of experience working in a kitchen management role.
  • A strong team player with a flexible attitude and problem-solving abilities; ability to work well both independently and within a team.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Able to act on own initiative and take responsible decisions.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Have the right to work in Greece.

Desirable Requirements

  • Health Certificate valid in Greece. Please note, we will assist anybody who does not have this to get one.
  • Experience of delivering culinary training.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of the context in which we operate as an NGO
  • Ability to work in a culturally diverse team.
  • Working competency in any of the following languages: Greek, French, Arabic or Farsi.

What We Can Offer

  • A truly rewarding role as a part of a highly committed team.
  • Hired on a fixed-term contract under Greek law, renewable. 1.200 EUR gross monthly salary (950 EUR net).
  • 25 days paid annual leave.

Communications & Fundraising Facilitator, Athens

We are looking for a creative yet analytical individual to join our team, who understands the techniques of online communications, networking and fundraising.

Hours: part-time, 24 hours per week
Start date: September 2022

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Communications:

    • Managing Social Media accounts, including online networking
    • Writing and distributing our monthly newsletter and managing mailing lists
    • Managing website updates (plugins, numbers, content)
    • Organising and creating content and graphics for communication purposes
    • Implementing social media strategies and providing input for their development
    • Collating relevant data for the evaluation of the effectiveness of communication campaigns and strategies

  • Fundraising:

    • Support with grant-writing for Greek foundations/grants
    • Providing administrative support for fundraising campaigns and ensuring their timely delivery
    • Responsible for in-kind donation sourcing

Essential Requirements

  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Greek
  • Knowledge of Canva, WordPress and MailChimp
  • Experience of writing effective, thoughtful, high-quality content
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with attention to detail
  • Social media experience (creating posts, account management)
  • Ability to work well both independently and within a team
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage priorities

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience working in the NGO sector
  • Understanding of the context in which we operate
  • Ability to create visually compelling content
  • Three years of professional experience working in a communications/media/ fundraising role
  • Fluency in German
